The lathe chuck fixes the workpiece by clamping or vacuum adsorption. Ensuring the stability of the workpiece fixation is an important prerequisite for processing accuracy.
Tool setting refers to adjusting the initial position of the tool on the CNC lathe to ensure that the tool can accurately cut to the predetermined position of the workpiece. During the tool setting process, the operator needs to manually or automatically measure the initial position of the tool and input the position information into the CNC system. In this way, the CNC lathe can accurately control the movement path of the tool during the processing.

4. Rough turning is the first step in processing. The main task is to quickly remove excess material and make the workpiece close to the design size. Since brass is a soft material, a larger feed amount and a faster feed rate can be used to improve cutting efficiency. There is no need to pursue surface finish in the rough turning stage. The focus is on efficient material removal.
After the rough turning is completed, the fine turning stage is entered. The goal of fine turning is to process parts that meet the dimensional tolerance requirements and achieve the surface finish required by the design. At this stage, the cutting amount is small and the feed rate is relatively slow to ensure processing accuracy and surface quality. Brass has good machinability and can obtain a smooth surface and uniform size.
For some brass lathe parts, end face processing and inner hole processing are also required. End turning is used to process the flat part of the workpiece to make it smooth and perpendicular to the axis. Internal hole processing uses a boring tool or drill to open or expand the inside of the workpiece. This process requires high precision to ensure that the hole diameter meets the design requirements.
